The Most Beautiful Faces Are Not Perfect
One of the most interesting aspects of my profession is this:
Every day, I look at faces.
Over the years, I have seen thousands of them.
And there is something I have come to realise.
The faces people find beautiful are not always the same faces they consider perfect.
Because beauty is a little more complicated than mathematics.
Proportions matter.
Balance matters.
Harmony matters.
Yet what makes a face memorable is rarely its perfection.
It is its character.
Some people have a slightly asymmetrical smile.
Others have eyes that are not perfectly identical.
Some have small details that quietly set them apart from everyone else.
More often than not, those details become the very features that make a person unforgettable.
In aesthetic medicine, I sometimes see people viewing these characteristics as flaws.
Yet from an outside perspective, those same characteristics are often what make them unique.
This is why my approach has never been about transforming a face into a standardised version of beauty.
Because when people start looking alike, they do not necessarily look more beautiful.
They simply begin to look the same.
To me, good aesthetic medicine is about enhancing harmony without changing identity.
Preserving character.
Protecting expression.
And allowing someone to still recognise themselves when they look in the mirror.
One of my favourite compliments over the years:
“Doctor, I look better, but I still look like myself.”
To me, that is the definition of a successful result.
The goal of aesthetic medicine is not to create a new face.
It is to reveal the best version of the face that already exists.
And more often than not, the most beautiful faces are not the perfect ones.
They are the ones that never lose their character.
